ProsperWorks Fireside Chat: Setting Yourself Up for Success in 2017

As January 1 draws near, most sales teams are realizing ‘tis the season to crush year-end numbers and plan for 2017. Since you only have a few precious weeks to rally and focus on finishing strong, here’s some advice from one of our own sales leaders, Shea Steacker (aka Peter Piper ProsperWorks): 

While we all love getting into the holiday spirit, seasonal festivities and last-minute changes can result in uncertainty in your pipeline. The state of your sales team also has a large impact on whether numbers are met, as both turnover and training new hires can stall you from hitting your goals.

If you’re a manager, use this time to check in on your team. Ask yourself:
- Are my reps happy in their roles?
- Do they have the right resources to succeed?
- What does each rep need to enhance their productivity in 2017?
- Is our sales process well-defined and easy to follow? What can be done to improve it?
- Does quota need to be realigned?

As a rep, remember that data drives your behavior. At the end year, consider:
- How does your pipeline look?
- Is your data clean?
- Are your top opportunities visible?
- Are you being proactive to get back on track after the holidays?

Although this year-end check-in is often put off until the last minute, it doesn’t take much to get the ball rolling. Set clear expectations for how the rest of the month is going to go and leave yourself plenty of time to enjoy the holiday season!
